
Dr Prianka Puri graduated with her medical degree from the University of Wollongong. Prior to this she completed a Bachelor of Medical Science degree at the Australian National University.
She subsequently obtained a Master of Public Health degree with distinction from the University of Wollongong and is currently completing her PhD in autoimmune renal disease and personalised medicine. She has presented at many national and international conferences and has been the recipient of multiple awards and research grants.
She undertook her specialist and subspecialist training at St George and Westmead Hospitals in Sydney, and at The Canberra Hospital in the ACT. After obtaining Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, she was appointed as a consultant nephrologist at The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in Queensland, where she was the clinical lead for the haemodialysis service. During this time, she was also appointed academic lead clinician at The University of Queensland. She subsequently relocated to Western Australia,where she was appointed consultant nephrologist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth. She has now returned to Canberra with her young family, having spent the past 12 months in Cambridge, United Kingdom undertaking further clinical work and research.
Dr Puri’s areas of clinical interest and expertise include autoimmune and glomerular kidney diseases, vasculitis, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, diabetic kidney disease, dialysis and kidney transplantation.
